March 30, 1975

For most of you, April 30, 1975
is the day South Vietnam fell to the communists.
For me, March 29, 1975 is the date.
Danang City fell on this day when
North Vietnamese soldiers moved into town
and got lost because
they weren't prepared to win that fast

Not known what my destiny was going to be
I snapped this picture
with the first VC I met
at Monkey Mountain (Tien Sha)
to remind the big day

Hope this winner still alive
to taste the "Sorrow of War"
and one day he runs into this page
and finds out
how much longer we would keep treat each other
as
enemy?
